The Weill Cornell Genetic Medicine Department leads a dynamic, cutting-edge translational research program which includes diverse fields of genetic therapy and personalized medicine.
Our genetic therapies program consists of both gene and stem cell therapy research projects. We operate the clinical vector production laboratory of the Belfer Gene Therapy Core Facility, which has produced adenovirus and adeno-associated virus vectors for numerous human studies.
Our personalized medicine program utilizes the latest technologies to assess genome-wide characterization of gene expression, single nucleotide polymorphism and copy number variation profiles on clinical samples - the basis for projects aimed at identifying candidate genes associated with complex diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes.
As part of Weill Cornell, the Genetic Medicine Department is committed to excellence in research, education, and the advancement of science.
