Abstract A procedure is described that generates a series of images spanning an average respiratory cycle. Images are constructed from scintigraphic data with similar respiratory flow and volume characteristics so that they may be displayed in continuous-loop movie format. This technique is noninvasive and requires little patient cooperation or technologist time. It should be most useful in investigations of dynamic pulmonary function, but may be applied to any radionuclide study affected by respiratory motion.
